Michael Stuart Carrión, born on January 13, 1975, in Manhattan, New York, and raised in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, is one of the most elegant and respected voices in contemporary salsa. With a career spanning over three decades, his journey represents the passion, rhythm, and essence of Latin music that has captivated audiences around the world.

Raised in a deeply musical environment, Michael developed a natural connection to tropical sounds from an early age—sounds that would ultimately shape his destiny. Influenced by his family’s musical roots and by some of the genre’s greatest icons, he found in salsa an authentic form of expression that blends emotion, energy, and sophistication.

His international breakthrough came in 1996 with his debut album “Cuentos de la Vecindad,” released under the legendary RMM Records label, earning immediate recognition with hits like “Amor a Primera Vista.” Since then, Michael Stuart has built a strong discography and established himself as an iconic figure in tropical music.

Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Marc Anthony, Rubén Blades, Willie Colón, La India, Olga Tañón, and José Feliciano, performing at renowned venues including Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Hollywood Bowl—bringing Puerto Rican salsa to global audiences.

Beyond music, Michael has also excelled in film, theater, and television, showcasing an artistic versatility that has strengthened his cultural presence across multiple disciplines.
